This Google Calendar reflects one whole month at P.S. 41 Q. What I have done is integrate our class schedule and school wide activities so that parents can view everything at once. I structured that calendar so that the first week has our regular daily schedule for the month. Only preps, AIS, and special activities repeat throughout the weeks of the month. I then added school wide activities such as picture day and movie night. I like this idea because it allows parents to get a look at the school calendar against our classroom calendar. It also lets parents know what specials their child has each day so they know how to dress them or what they will need.
I like the idea of embedding Google calendars into a wiki space. I think it is a great way to publicize important information using a working calendar. I like that the calendars can be collaborated on so that teachers, parents and PTA members can add important events (quiz//test, student's birthday, bake sale, etc.). I think this is a great way to keep all parties in the know!
